The weekend is coming to an end and I’m crying in the club. They’re about to turn the lights up soon. Last call was twenty minutes ago. The Uber is on its way. Let me answer a few questions before they kick me out.

A little housekeeping as we start a new week at ktlyb: three whole weeks of consistency! I think I’m finally finding my groove. It’s a short writing week (only two posts planned), so we’ll stay focused and keep a central theme.

Also, I’m looking for someone to guest column for ktlyb! If there’s something you want to share or a question you’ve been dying to ask, send it my way. I’ll handle the graphics and formatting & you just bring your words.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about relationships, love, and the people I want to live this ordinary life with. So… prepare yourself for a few relationshippy questions this week. Back in your inbox on Thursday!

Ask Me Anything (Part Three)

Back again with the rest of your questions.

💬 Where would your 2015 self be if you didn't pivot?

[redacted]

💬 What are your goals for the remainder of the year?

My only real goal for 2025 is be hot and have fun. Oh! I want to finally go to Dallas.
I can’t recall ever visiting and I’d like to see what the city has to offer. I keep saying this year will be the year (but TWO canceled concerts later, I still haven’t been). I’ve got less than two months to make it happen. Wish me luck, or let’s plan a quick trip!

💬 What would a perfect day look like?

My perfect day is a Saturday. I sleep in until around 10:30-11:00 a.m., then slowly get ready for brunch. A short walk afterward with some coffee, perfect weather would be ideal for yoga outside, then laying down with a book before taking a fat nap. I’d end the day with a late dinner and maybe a craft or video games. I’m already dreaming about this… omg.

💬 If you could be anyone or anything, who/what would you be and why?

Maybe an anglerfish? Idk. Ideally, I would exist on this planet in the next life with no real human interaction, just vibing deep down dark sea. There’s probably a better answer to this question, but that's the first thing that comes to mind.

💬 Are Frankie & Louise going to have a new guardian anytime soon?

This question needs a little context. Louise had surgery back in July, and while I was crying, trying to get her into the vet, and making sure Frankie was okay, I had to fill out intake paperwork that required a second emergency contact. I couldn’t skip the screen, and I felt pitiful because no one lives close enough to make decisions or get updates on the cats.

That’s why my dating profiles now say: “My cats need a new emergency contact/parent.

The girls and I are still vibing as a trio. Candidates are being interviewed.
We hope for good news and decisions made in 2026.

p.s. If anything happens to me, Amir must take the cats. 🥲

💬 What dish do you hate making?

RICE! I can’t cook rice to save my life. I probably could’ve learned by now, but I refuse to apply myself.
This is and forever will be a rice cooker or microwaveable rice household.

💬 Have you ever loved somebody so much it made you cry?

My most-played album of 2024 was Private Blizzard by Dhruv. It perfectly captures the feeling of having your heart broken and learning to exist again while piecing it back together. I really felt like he wrote it for me post-2023 heartbreak, when I finally stopped crying.

💬 Do you have a go-to book that you recommend when people ask for book recs?

I always recommend a very ‘beach read’ type of a book. The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary. It’s such an easy, fun read and a cute concept. If you want something a little more thought-provoking (and still clever), Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi is perfect.

Lance Not So Strong

💬 What’s the first thing or fact that comes to mind when you hear Lance Armstrong?

  • Doping

  • Is that the guy who rides bikes?

  • I confused him for Neil Armstrong. Goodbye.

  • Those yellow Live Strong bracelets (3)

  • Doesn’t he only have one ball?

  • Man who is known as the greatest cyclist and survived ball cancer

  • Sets records/defying expectations

  • Cheater :(

Last Week Wrapped ~

💬 What did you want to be when you were growing up? What do you do now?
Do you feel like you've found your thing, or are we still in our exploration era?

I wanted to be a marine biologist (very Pisces of me)! I work from home for nationwide/being a mom to the cutest baby in the world!

I think I found my thing as fast as being a mom goes definitely not the nationwide thing. My goal is to be a stay at home mom but trump is making that difficult. 🙄🙄.

Sometimes I also want to go back to school and be something else.

I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. And now I am a high school teacher.

This is my 8th year working in education. I have yet to have a moment when I absolutely dreaded going to work every day. Of course there are days I don’t want to but that’s normal. I love my job and enjoy what I do. I can’t really see myself doing anything else. I’m always open for different opportunities. But it’s really what ever God has planned for me

Geologist. Author. Definitely still in the exploration era lol

Still figuring it out, still exploring, still learning. Love this for us.

k, thanks.
love you! bye!
