a little too much, a little too soon
issue no. 5

Happy Friday!! We’ve made it to the end of another week. I’ve somehow managed to publish three newsletters in five days?? Wild. Who do I think I am.
This truly is a labor of love, considering ktlyb started out as my daily three minute podcast of thoughts right off the top of my head. I’d sometimes have a sticky note on the back of my phone with a few words to get me started and the occasional quick edit for background noise. My high thoughts realllllllllllllly carried us through season two.
ktlyb as a newsletter though? A whole different beast. I have been pre-planning content, writing these emails, making graphics, drafting instagram captions and stories. It’s starting to feel like a job. But that’s kind of the point of challenging yourself, right? You sit with something new or uncomfortable for a bit. I’m treating this like a little yin yoga practice for my creativity. Like yin, you lean into the stillness, hold the pose for a while, and “find your edge”. That edge where you’re physically and mentally challenged, but can still breathe comfortably into the space and find release. You teeter there, between comfort and discomfort.
As always, my weekend plans include touching grass, hugging my people, and stretching my body. I might even throw in a few horror movies for balance. I hope your weekend brings in the energies you crave. Let’s meet again in your inbox next Tuesday.

Right now? Chicken pot pie. With puff pastry as the crust instead of regular pie crust. Absolute game changer. I've been craving this meal for two weeks straight.

I wanted to be an art teacher. Now I’m an office manager.
Still figuring out my thing, but I know it’s somewhere in people and culture not traditional HR.

When i was little, i wanted to be a doctor. now, i’m a stay at home mom to Ms. K and honestly, i think i might’ve found my thing.💕 there’s something special about being present for these moments, even the quiet ones.
But a small part of me still hopes that maybe one day, i’ll wear the white coat not as the doctor i once dreamed of being, but as a PA who never stopped believing she could. ✨
I wanted to be a geologist!! I am a practicing nail tech now. I think I’ve definitely found my thing. The reason I wanted to study rocks was because I liked the shiny ones, now I just get to make my own shiny things on people’s hands. Still definitely perfecting my craft, but I am headed on the right track.
I’m too indecisive but growing up I wanted to be a singer, teacher, obgyn and a nicu nurse. I’m currently a senior appeals analyst and working on my bachelors in healthcare admin. I’m definitely still exploring things
I wanted to be a “Baby Doctor”
I’m currently a physical therapist.
I love being a PT, however think I’m starting to dislike the setting I’m in currently. So I’m in my exploration era, but too scared to leave my job to explore.
Then: Doctor/surgeon
Now: software engineer
I’ll probably keep doing this or something adjacent until I retire ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A bowl of Malt-O-Meal. My dad’s version with lots of butter, sugar, and lumpy bits.
💬 What major holiday would you eliminate?
Independence Day. Purely selfish reason: my birthday is stuck in a BBQ holiday sandwich
